Zombie vs Tectonic/Core Temp -- Apocalypse Scenarios Print view

(Pretty god damn bored)

The proposed Apocalypse scenarios posed by Religion, Sci-Fi, can be debated about their probable future occurrence in modern day society.

But, if said Apocalyptic scenarios were to play out, which would be the most probable to survive ?

In my opinion, the Zombie scenario would be more probable to survive. This is because, with the right equipment, group, transportation, and weapons/rations, you can quite possibly live throughout it. That's if and only if the infection is spread through bite/flesh wound. If, for instance it was an aerial/water based contagion, that would be a different story. The only way you'd be able to survive that scenario is if there's a vaccine of some sort, or if you're immune to it all together. But, in conclusion, it is possible to survive the Zombie Apocalypse, even if it's a slim chance. That is, opposed to the latter, which would be a Tectonic/Core temp based apocalypse.

In the movie 2012, it depicts what would happen if a Tectonic/Core temp Apocalypse were to play out. Based on what was shown, you have virtually no chance of surviving unless you're one of two things. Ridiculously rich, or resourceful. And, even with those things, it'll still be impossibly hard. When dealing with Tectonics, one should know it is quite possibly the most destructive force known to man. Avoiding something like this would entail that you have access to something that could withstand it. Which, nothing in humane existence is capable of withstanding the force of Tectonics, except "Arcs" which would withstand some, but not all of the damage done(as depicted by the movie). So, I believe that surviving the Tectonic Apocalypse is more or less futile, to say the least.

Which do you think is more probable of surviving, and why ?

Id rather Test my Fate aginst zombies any day than to fight mother nature ^__^...

with zombies i can be in command of whats going on i can stab them i can kill them i can kick them i can hide.... I cant hide from a 2000 foot wave :( . BUT.... If it is those mutating zombies that you see on Resident Evil or Left 4 Dead... i rather take my chances with the Plate tectonics and construct a super box or something XD

I'd say the zombie survival would be one of the easiest things to do if people got a head start, even a small one.
If the infection rate of your city spiked high the day you saw an infected, you might as well blow your brains out then and there.
But even if you had an hour-day time of prep, you'd have enough time to raid enough places to plan out your survival.
The general plan for me would become a Siberian druid, living in the uninhabited mountains and forests of the virgin territories of Russia. There would be a zero likelihood of me running into a zombie.

Tectonic plates? Hahahahahahahahaha. Time to buy a noose before me and my house fall into a fissure.

Luckily there are dozens of abandoned houses, compounds, food reserves, and animals to keep you warm/full
