It had a caption: Why love one but eat the other?
Some girl replied: Dogs are animals, cats are animals, cows, chickens, turkeys and pigs are animals, humans are animals. Carnivores are practically cannibals. Think about it.
Firstly, I have nothing wrong with vegetarianism in itself, but some of these people are treating their diet like it's their religion. They're trying to force it onto people and will bash others for eating meat. It's pretty irritating, and frankly quite stupid.
You guys know me, I love animals. I love studying animals, interacting with animals, drawing animals and talking about animals (I'm doing it now in fact, heheh). This is why I'm able to say that it's completely out of line to say that all carnivores are cannibals. Really, what? By definition a cannibal is an animal that feeds on flesh of its own species.
Humans are not the same species as cows, pigs, turkeys, dogs or even monkeys.
This girl says humans are animals, and if she knows anything about animals, she knows that animals eat animals. That's the circle of life and there's nothing wrong with it, it's natural.
Secondly, different animals are bred and raised by humans for different things. Cows, turkeys, pigs and chickens are raised for food. Horses are bred for locomotion. Dogs are raised for hunting, herding and companionship. Cats are raised for hunting (pest control) and companionship.
That's just how the cookie crumbled. I doubt dogs would taste very good, and I doubt cows would make good house pets.
True a cow could be a house pet, but this doesn't mean it should. Just as much, a dog could be thrown into a stir fry.
Lastly, I don't understand why people who try to force vegetarianism onto others always think that just because I have nothing against eating animals means that I must hate them. That's not how it is at all, I'm simply open minded enough to realize that it's how nature is.
Hunters always get hated on by animal lovers because they kill the animals. Many hunters actually love animals and could tell you the whole natural history of the animals they kill for food and clothing if you were willing to listen.
Although I'm a little touchy on the subject of dead people/animals, I'm trying to be more accepting because I know that there is a lot to learn about life through death. I actually befriended a few people online who are interested in taxidermy and necropsy, they have huge amounts of respect for the animals they taxidermize. It's quite something.
